Even as a sad, scared, disappointed child, something inside me kept insisting, “It is possible to be happy.”
With that inner North Star guiding me, I embarked on an uncertain journey toward Destination Happiness.
I remember screaming into the void back then, “I want my power back!!!”
Stomping my feet shouting, “I want to feel good! I want to feel good! I want to feel good!”
Lost in suffering, I swore “I would do anything . . . if I just knew what to do.”
I tried many things that didn’t work – such as expecting other people to make me happy. Ha!
I tried many things that worked to some extent or for a while – chanting, swimming, one self-help book after another.
In retrospect I see that each step, detour and process was leading me closer to my desired state.
Finally in 2005, I found the Law of Attraction via the book, Ask & It Is Given. Abraham’s messages that life is supposed to be fun, that well-being is our natural state and that we’re supposed to have what we want resonated with me on the deepest level.
Am I on top of the world every moment of every day? Not even close, but I now know what to do to raise my vibration and that makes all the difference.
Coaching others to understand and apply the Law of Attraction helps me as well because it requires me to keep my vibration as high as possible in order to be of the most benefit to my clients.
The contrast of coming into a physical body and experiencing grief, fear, anger – basically all the lower vibrations – inspired in me a powerful desire to figure out this happiness thing. It did not come easily but it did come and I’m filled with joy and appreciation to know for sure that it really is possible to be happy.
