Making Peace with What-Is

We all know the drill:

*Make peace with what-is

*Don’t push against what you don’t like

*What you resist persists

When we push against the unwanted, we’re in a state of resistance, which blocks what we do want from coming in.

Pushing against something unwanted infuses the very thing we do not want with energy and power.

Now, to be clear, making peace with what-is does not mean giving up or settling.  It’s simply the first step to raising our vibration so we can then attract what we prefer.

Fortunately, I have Mia who provides furry, four-legged guidance to show me when I need to stop resisting and accept what-is.

Case in point:

Mia has experienced many health issues over her 13 years of life on planet earth.  And it has occurred to me more than once that I just might be perpetuating these issues by worrying and kvetching and, it must be said, pushing against them each time.

So, one morning about a month ago Mia and I enjoyed our usual early morning beach walk and she was fine.  Later that morning she started limping.  By the next morning she was limping AND her paw was bleeding.  After cleaning her up, I headed to the beach – for the first time without her – furiously trying to walk it off.  Not another Mia issue!!  Grrr!!  Not another trip to the vet!!  Aargh!!

As I power walked, I coached myself to STOP pushing against what-is.  After releasing sufficient resistance to raise my vibration, I was able to move into acceptance, telling myself – “I’ll call the vet at 8:00.  It’s Thursday so they’re open.  I have money and transportation.  It’s all okay.”

When I got back home, Mia was completely fine.  There was no more blood and no more limping!  What?

Which brought to mind my favorite Louise Hay quote,

“I don’t fix problems.

I fix my thinking and problems fix themselves.”

I fixed my thinking and, voila, Mia’s foot “magically” fixed itself.  Okay, I’ll take that.  And she’s been fine ever since.

Thanks to Mia for reminding me that, when an unwanted scenario [which we Conscious Creators lovingly call contrast] pops up, my job is to find a way to make peace with it.

As Abraham says, there is only a stream of well-being that flows and we can allow it or we can resist it.

Here’s to making peace with what-is so we can allow that stream of well-being to flow abundantly and unimpeded.
