Negative thoughts and limiting beliefs and flawed premises – oh my!
Stinkin’ thinkin’ can sabotage our happiness and our ability to manifest our desires. Any thought that feels bad when we think it is blocking our natural state of well-being.
As we uncover our stinkin’ thinkin’, we’re in a position to consciously choose thoughts that contribute to our happiness rather than undermine it.
Following are eight of the more popular limiting beliefs. Check to see if any of these apply to you.
*I’m not good enough. There is nothing true about this belief or any of its spin-offs – I’m not smart enough, talented enough, attractive enough, etc. We do not need to justify our existence. We are physical expressions of Source, one with All-That-Is. We are valuable and worthy just as we are.
*Circumstances need to change before I can feel good. Actually, it’s the other way around. When we feel good, we’re a vibrational match to good feeling circumstances. As we choose thoughts that feel good, our circumstances morph to match our high vibration.
*I can’t really have it all. In this Universe of infinite plenty where we attract what we desire and allow, abundance of all kinds is ours for the asking. It’s about becoming a vibrational match to our desires. We can have it all and we can have it delivered. ;-]
*I must fight against evil and injustice. The harder we push against unwanted things, the more we invite unwanted things into our lives. As we make peace with what-is, we are then in a position to focus our energy toward what we prefer, thus becoming part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
*I must work extremely hard to be successful. The most important “work” for creating success is to find ways to feel good. From that high vibration, we are then inspired to any joyful physical action required. Efforting and working hard can be counterproductive. It’s not about what we do. It’s always about the way we feel.
*I must live according to the standards of others. Due to our reptilian brain, this belief trips up most of us at one time or another as we try to please others and fit in socially. By giving ourselves permission to unapologetically live the life that feels best to us, we become unwilling to relinquish our power to design and create it.
*Life is hard. Well, that depends on our understanding of how life works. Life can be extremely difficult if we don’t know why unwanted things come to us or why things we do want persist in staying away. When we do our best to maintain a high vibration, life can be both easy and fun.
*Someone else should make me happy. This is a popular flawed premise, which I admit I was reluctant to give up. Even if we could find someone willing to be responsible for our happiness, no one has that power. Happiness comes from the inside out.
Because our beliefs ultimately determine our experience, identifying limiting beliefs and replacing them with empowering beliefs is a powerful tool in any conscious creator’s toolkit.
As we become aware of stinkin’ thinkin’ and choose thoughts that feel better, we align with our natural state of well-being and easily manifest our heart’s desires.
