Last week in meditation I received this message:
“What if you just decide to feel good?”
Eight words – short and sweet– and the subtext is:
Because that’s what you really want anyway
when you’re trying to manifest the stuff.
In other words, why not just decide to feel good now? Why wait?
We expect good circumstances to make us feel good so we spend time and energy trying to create those circumstances, trying to manifest the stuff. All the while forgetting that feeling good is the actual goal.
“At the heart of every desire is
the desire to feel good.”
-Abraham-Hicks
It’s easy to get caught up in the “I’ll be happy when . . .” approach to life. In this popular mindset, the way we feel is dependent on conditions, so we’re tossed about like a pinball according to what’s happening on the outside. When it really only matters how we feel on the inside.
When we feel good inside, we’re a vibrational match to our desires and the Universe has no choice but to come up with the goods. In other words, feel good = get good stuff.
What if feeling good is a decision we can make, something we can choose, a skill we can develop by affirming it? [Pro Tip – It Is!]
The moment I pause and affirm I FEEL GOOD, my shoulders relax, my breathing deepens and the world looks a little more colorful.
Even when we’re experiencing contrast, doing our best to feel better – even a little bit better – is a powerful step forward.
If feeling good is what we want anyway, and then our desires manifest [in that order], why not decide to feel as good as we can first and enjoy the journey to the stuff?
Deciding to feel good and remembering the way we feel determines what we experience – that’s life mastery!
