According to the Law of Attraction, you’re a magnet attracting into your life whatever you focus on. It is, therefore, a wise course of action to focus on what you DO want rather than what you DON’T want. Like attracts like, right?
Whether you’re currently living a life of wealth, poverty, or somewhere in between, it’s all determined by your money mindset. And your money mindset comes from your subconscious programming.
If you’re not living the financial life you desire, that’s information that your subconscious mind is programmed with messages like – Money is hard to come by. Money slips through my fingers. I have to do things I don’t want to do to earn money. Money is for other people, not for me. It may even include these kinds of messages: Money is not spiritual. Rich people are greedy and materialistic.
As a child, you were taught how to think about money. You were taught how much or how little you can have and how difficult or how easy money is to come by.
The money messages you heard when you were young determined whether you were programmed for struggle or for ease around money. When you were young, you didn’t have a lot of choice about what got programmed into your subconscious. You couldn’t exactly sit your parents down and say:
“Mom, Dad, I’ve been watching you for a while now and it seems to me you’ve got a poverty mindset. Just so you know, that’s not going to work for me, so I’ll be choosing a mindset of abundance. Good, then, thanks for the talk.”
You didn’t really have that kind of choice back then. But you do now. You can choose to write new empowering money programs now. You can choose to be a Money Magnet now.
Often, when people think about re-programming their subconscious mind, they shrink bank and imagine how difficult it will be and how long it will take. It’s actually not that difficult. It simply takes awareness and consistent re-focusing.
Here’s a simple process to create affirmations that have the power to re-program your subconscious mind for wealth and abundance:
Start by drawing a vertical line down the center of a piece of paper. Label the left side DON’T WANT and label the right side DO WANT. On the left, list all your money problems, everything you don’t like about your financial life. Write them all down – everything you DON’T WANT to experience around money. Now, to the right of each DON’T WANT, write what you DO WANT.
For example, a DON’T WANT might be something like: I’m sick and tired of having to struggle every month to get the bills paid. So your DO WANT would be: I want to have enough money to easily pay my bills.
The next step is to turn your DO WANTS into affirmations. For this example, it might be: I always have plenty of money to pay my bills. Or perhaps: My income easily provides for my needs AND my wants.
Then check to see if your affirmations FEEL GOOD. I know you don’t believe them yet (because if you did, you’d be living them), but if they FEEL GOOD to you, if they call to you, they are good affirmations for you.
Here are some of my favorite money affirmations:
I Live in a Universe of Abundance.
Money Flows to Me Easily and Joyfully.
I Deserve Abundance.
I Love Money and Money Loves Me.
I am a Powerful Money Magnet.
If you’ve worked with affirmations before, you know the best affirmations are bold, clear, positive, and stated in the present tense. As you say your affirmations, FEEL as if you’re living them now. FEEL the joy. FEEL the ease. FEEL the success as you repeat your affirmations. Imagine what it would feel like to be living a life of greater and greater abundance.
In addition to stating your affirmations each day, consistently repeat “I am a Money Magnet” throughout the day. Let that be your mantra. Let that be your constant thought. If thoughts of worry or fear or lack come up, replace them with “I am a Money Magnet!”
“Financial abundance is simply the Universe’s response
to consistent thoughts and feelings of abundance.”
As a Money Magnet, you APPRECIATE and ENJOY every dollar that comes in. When you appreciate what you’ve got, you attract more. An excellent process – one I’ve been doing myself for many years – is the Abundance Journal. In this journal, you record every penny that comes to you. When you receive income in any form, when you find coins on the street, when someone buys you a cup of coffee, write it down, appreciate it and declare with joy “I am a money magnet!”
As you consistently repeat your affirmations, you will accomplish the feeling of abundance. This alignment creates a tipping point whereupon you will be presented with greater and greater evidence of financial improvement.
Use affirmations to expand your money mindset far beyond what you think is currently possible for you. As doubt is replaced with belief, you will see income and opportunities begin to show up for you in surprising and delightful ways. At which point, you will proudly proclaim “I AM A MONEY MAGNET!”
