Ain’t It Wonderful

Since my sweet Westie pup moved into the nonphysical realm a few weeks ago, it has been more difficult to feel good.

I no longer have that immediate dopamine hit I enjoyed so much by just looking at her furry face.  I’m missing her playful energy that automatically raised my vibration up to love and joy and appreciation.

The contrast has shown me that I need to raise my own damn vibration.  Mia has resigned her position.

I realized I needed to find a new way to easily raise my vibration.  And I found it!

Louise Hay is famous for responding to someone dialed into blaming and complaining by saying, We’re not going to sit here and play ain’t it awful because that is not going to help anybody.”

Since I do not enjoy playing “ain’t it awful” [which can only bring more awful], it occurred to me to try “ain’t it wonderful.”

I started by lying down with my eyes closed for ten minutes and just letting thoughts of anything I considered to be wonderful bubble up [this bed is so comfy, it feels good to relax, the fresh air from the open window is the perfect temp, etc.]

I felt so refreshed and uplifted by that ten minutes, I knew I was on to something.

Now I’m playing ain’t it wonderful any time I think of it.  A routine trip to Trader Joe’s can be transformed into a joyful outing by choosing to be present to all the wonderful.  Wonderful is always there whether I’m tuned into it or not.

We can count on the Law of Attraction to show us more of whatever we’re focusing on.  It can be awful or it can be wonderful.  Our focus — our choice.

Pro Tip:  Don’t think about something unwanted and try to see it as wonderful.  Just start with something easy [it’s a beautiful day, I get to have my favorite soup and baguette for lunch] and go from there.

I invite you to raise your vibration by playing ain’t it wonderful with positive expectation that delightful things are available to you everywhere.  Then watch what happens.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing “I see trees of green, red roses too . . . And I think to myself what a wonderful world!
