Only Good Can Come to Me

For a few months now, I’ve been reading Pam Grout’s book, The Course in Miracles Experiment. I highly recommend it if you want to raise your vibration and become more convinced that life is good and all is well.

Of the many valuable concepts I continue to glean from this book, the phrase “only good can come to me” has become a vibe-lifting mantra for my daily life.

One day last week I was enjoying my early morning beach walk, marveling at the crashing waves, the Channel Islands in the distance, dogs living their best lives, dolphins, pelicans, seagulls, even a snowy egret.

When, all of a sudden, I went Splat! and found myself on the ground. I was able to get up and I was unhurt – except for disappointment that every bit of my just-at-the-perfect-temp matcha latte had spilled out onto the sand.

It would have been easy to think – WTF was that about? or Why did this unwanted thing happen to me? – both of which would imply an underlying belief that something had gone wrong.

But the thing is I really don’t want to go there anymore. I want to jump to positive conclusions. I want to know that this must somehow be good because only good can come to me.

As I walked along, I remembered an amazing client I worked with back in probably 2007. She was way ahead of me in her belief that there’s a gift in everything and she was really good at looking for and therefore finding the gift.

As I recall, she had been dealing with lower back pain for several months and, during our time together, her car was rear ended while she waited at a stop light. Did she say Oh no, this is bad? No, she did not.

True to form, she looked for the gift. And she soon found it. In our session the following week, she reported that the car accident had actually re-aligned her body and her back pain was gone! [And the other guy’s insurance bought her a new car.]

Three takeaways from Pam Grout and my amazing client:
*Trusting that only good can come to us inspires us to look for the good in every situation, no matter how unwanted it may at first appear.

*With the positive expectation that something good will come of this [unwanted situation], we actually draw out the good from the field of infinite potential.

*If we decide to believe there’s always a gift, then that’s what will happen because we experience what we believe.

Even if you’re facing something that appears to be the exact opposite of a gift, would you be willing to think of it as a treasure hunt and decide to look for the gift anyway?

As conscious creators we know our thoughts create our reality, so it’s a really good idea to focus on the reality we desire.

I invite you to practice expecting the good and looking for the gift. As “only good can come to me” becomes your mantra, the Law of Attraction will have no choice but to respond to you with gifts and goodness of all kinds.
