I don’t know about you but I was not programmed from a young age to believe I can have what I want. Maybe sometimes, perhaps some part of it, but you can’t just snap your fingers and get what you want in life.
Or can you?
My Westie, Mia, made her transition a few months ago and I was ready to attract my new furry playmate so I started googling all the pet sites looking at pictures and descriptions – not unlike online dating 🙂
So what do I want? Do I want a puppy? What’s cuter than a puppy, right? You can train a puppy just the way you want them to be BUT that takes a lot of work every day for a long time. Ugh!
Do I want to rescue an older dog? Yes, that sounded good so I fostered a cutie patootie for a few days until right in front of me he peed on my couch. He also had major separation anxiety and, although my heart went out to him, clearly that was not what I wanted.
Puppy? Rescue? Puppy? Rescue? I knew I had split energy and I’m aware that is not the path to dreams come true, but there I was stuck in the messy middle.
Until one fine day, I remembered I can have what I want. Abraham reminds us we’re supposed to have what we want – anything we want!
On that fine day, I got clear that I don’t want to train a puppy and I don’t want to rescue a dog that might bring a U-Haul full of baggage. I got clear – I want a 2 to 5 yo, small, happy, healthy, sweet female, probably some poodly mix, completely housetrained, well-loved from a good home that can no longer keep her.
I was inspired then to check Craigslist one more time and OMG there she is– a gorgeous female champagne Cockapoo that exceeded my expectations. She’s even off-leash trained and beach ready. And, get this – the owner had at the same time made up her mind she could no longer keep her beloved pet.
But wait it gets better. They were in Los Angeles– 90 miles away and who knows how many hours in traffic. I was willing to drive to LA to meet this dog because I knew she was my dog. Here’s the even better part – the owner said she would be driving through Santa Barbara in two days and I could meet her then.
Really? I can have what I want and I can have it delivered?
Once I got clear about what I truly wanted and remembered I can have / am supposed to have what I want, it happened immediately. And Charley, I’m delighted to report, is absolutely perfect!
Having what we want requires getting clear about our desire and maintaining a high enough vibration to know we can have it. Then we’re a vibrational match. Then we let it in – the equivalent of snapping our fingers.
What a great system – Desire and allow and it is!
